We are proud to have supported Young Start- up Talent this year.

Young Start-up Talent is a community based project whose aims are to help 16-25 year olds with an entrepreneurial flair transform their business enterprise into a reality. This year has seen young business minds from across the Gatwick Diamond, Brighton & Hove and the West Kent region battle it out to put their business plans forward in a Dragons Den style final.

The winner of the £50k Young Start-up talent prize fund for West Kent was announced earlier this month as 19 year old Eden Tiltman with her company BALES Care Agency which provides both care companies and carers with the opportunity to find on the spot ‘supply’ carers or care jobs.

One of our Gatwick Partners, Paul Roe, acted as both judge and sponsor alongside other members of the business community, helping the finalists to break down their business plans and concepts in more detail. Paul also attended the prize evening this month at Trinity Theatre in Tunbridge Wells.

Paul commented “Eden had undertaken copious amounts of research, and summarised that into a lucid, convincing business plan. Given her assumptions, and the modest geographical area she will need to service in her business model, it has as good a chance of success as any start up business. That’s high praise for one so young.” Please follow the link for a video introducing Paul Roe and the other judges and for an overview of the West Kent Young Start-up Talent competition
