We are conducting a nationwide research project where we will explore how UK businesses grow, the barriers to growth they encounter and where they are looking to expand.

The current economic landscape has never been so uncertain, leaving individuals and businesses second-guessing what tomorrow might hold. The domestic political landscape is increasingly fractured and driven by party politics. Internationally, countries are looking ever more inwards with the threat of trading tariffs and isolationist policies. Brexit continues to raise many more questions than answers. Businesses crave certainty and that is in short supply: that’s why businesses and the bodies that represent them are speaking out.

As advisers to growing businesses and business owners, we aim to understand this shifting landscape together with current growths plans, goals and obstacles business face, and that is why we have launched Going for Growth.

Going for Growth will ask businesses across the country for their views and experiences on growth – how they prepare and execute growth strategies, where growth is going to come from, and the barriers to growth.

The survey results will provide opportunities for further discussion and debate, together with insights to help UK businesses as they expand at home or abroad.

In order to conduct this anonymous research, we are working with the specialist market research body, Atomik, and together we have devised over a dozen, easy to answer questions. The survey is now closed, thank you to all who took part.

The results of our survey will be published in October on a special report. A series of events and industry roundtables will also be held throughout the Autumn where the findings will be discussed and analysed in greater detail.
