We are proud to announce that Jenna Richards, a secretary based in our Canterbury office, has so far raised over £700 for local cancer charity Odyssey and donated 16 inches of her hair to the Little Princess Trust, a charity providing real hair wigs free of charge to children who have lost their hair through illness.

On Friday 19 May Jenna, who has been growing her hair for 8 years, bravely put her waist-length locks into the hands of partner, Richard Heasman, in order to benefit the two charities.

Jenna commented, “I have been growing my hair for such a long time so to have it cut so short so quickly was quite a shock! But it is for such fantastic causes and will hopefully help a little girl or boy going through a tough time, and the donations received will benefit those battling and recovering from cancer. I have been overwhelmed by the support from friends and colleagues and so happy to have exceeded my target already.”

Richard said, “I am so proud of Jenna for the money she has raised so far, and bravely letting me take the scissors to her lovely hair! I don’t know who was more nervous, me or her! It is such a wonderful thing to do and will hugely benefit those whose lives are affected by cancer – well done Jenna!”

Congratulations to Jenna for her fundraising, we think her new hair looks fantastic and her donated hair, together with the money raised, is going to two more than worthy causes! If you would like to donate please visit Jenna’s JustGiving page here.

Odyssey is a Canterbury based charity which aims to enhance the quality of life for people with cancer through outdoor based programmes of challenging activities.

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs free of charge to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland that have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.
