We recently held our annual fitness day to coincide with Cycle to Work Day, raising funds for charities across London, Kent and Sussex.
The Kreston Reeves Fitness Day saw staff across the firm’s offices cycle a combined 760 miles, hula-hooping and strengthening core muscles through a planking challenge whilst raising money for Pilgrims Hospice (Canterbury and Thanet), Demelza Hospice Care for Children, Turning Tides, Samaritans of Horsham and Crawley, Home Start Chichester & District, Chestnut Tree House and St Luke’s Community Centre in London.
James Peach, Partner and Head of Corporate Social Responsibility committee said: “Staff were encouraged to swap their suits for Lycra and cycle into the office for the Kreston Reeves Fitness Day. For those unable to bike to work, exercise bikes were provided with staff volunteering to take a 10-minute spot continuously throughout the day.
And Kreston Reeves staff are a fit bunch, collectively cycling 760 miles while donating money to their chosen charities, raising over £770. The team in Discovery Park managed to cycle the furthest, hitting 187 miles over the course of the day – a ‘wheel-ly’ impressive achievement!”
The Kreston Reeves Fitness Day is part of our ongoing commitment to the health and wellbeing of our staff across our offices. The recently launched wellbeing programme has seen ambassadors elected by our colleagues receiving specialist mental health awareness training. They have also been tasked with coordinating local events and activities designed to champion wellbeing, including arranging workshops on mindfulness and nutrition as well as activities aligned with national events, such as Cycle to Work Day.
We have an impressive and strong commitment to supporting the communities where we work and where our staff live. In the financial year ending 2019, we raised a truly impressive £10,000 for our chosen charities.
