Our Academies Benchmark Report 2022 is based on those Academies that prepared financial statements for the period ended 31 August 2021 and which were audited by member firms of Kreston UK.

Key highlights include:

• 94% uplift in surplus per academy from 2020 to 2021
• 65% expect to grow in 2022/23 by at least 1-3 schools
• 97% of trusts are now part of fully centralised
• 80% of their income is approximately spent on staff
