We have come to know Georgia over the last four years we think that Georgia is an absolute star nothing is too much trouble for her. Her knowledge is vast... More she is kind and reassuring and explains everything so it is easy to understand. We really do not know where we would be without her and look forward to her visits. Denise and Martyn Ball
An interview with Georgia Leahy
We sat down with Georgia Leahy, Financial Adviser in our Financial Planning team, who tells us about her purpose and best moments at Kreston Reeves.
“I joined Kreston Reeves Financial Planning in July 2010 and believe my early years in an Adviser Support role assisting with various clients requirements gave me one of the most important lessons, everyone’s economic and life situation are unique. With this in mind, I realised how essential it is to have good active listening skills and great empathy when learning about a client’s personal goals.
Although the role of a Financial Adviser is challenging, I am very passionate and committed about my role and to help clients achieve their financial goals in being my main objective. It is also incredibly important to protect against risk, something I specialise in – whether this be risk of death, illness and/or inability to continue working or protecting a client’s estate against inheritance tax.
After obtaining a Diploma for Financial Planning together with passing fourteen financial exams, my goal is to undertake two more exams and become Chartered which it is widely accepted is the ‘gold standard’ within the profession.
An Independent Financial Adviser should really get to know their clients, their circumstances, needs, objectives and preferences. Our independent status means we are not affiliated or associated with any particular providers, meaning we are able to thoroughly research, compare and make a personalised recommendation from the whole of the market, ensuring it is truly right for our clients and any policy features where applicable are fully understood.
I receive valuable support from Kreston Reeves Financial Planning whose teamwork and professionalism enables me to build long-term relationships with my clients.
Outside of work, I enjoy keeping active, swimming, long walks in the woods with my family, I love reading and my greatest achievement is my daughter Isla.
I really enjoy interacting with clients and have built strong relationships with clients over the years. As a Financial Advisor, I am dedicated to proving two important things, Trust and Value.
“Many people are in the dark when it comes to money, and I’m going to turn on the lights”
The above quote from Suze Orman resonates with me as I believe my role as a Financial Advisor is about being transparent and open with regards to financial planning when working with clients.”
