The Summit is an annual event hosted by Kent Business School with partners the Federation of Small Businesses, the Institute of Directors, Locate in Kent and Kent Messenger Group. It sees business leaders, academics and policy makers gather to discuss key business issues in the region.
The event, originally due to take place in person on 14 January 2022 at the University of Kent, has been moved to 27 April due to ongoing uncertainties around Omicron. However, all summit partners are still hosting a free virtual event on Friday 14 January.
The virtual event will focus on the latest updates on the economic forecast from the Bank of England and key plans to deliver a sustainable economy in Kent and Medway, as well as covering many other topics like regional economic landscape and strategies for growth. Further details of the virtual event and how to book your place are available here.
The Summit, now due to take place on 27 April, will focus on sustainable innovation and the drive for net zero carbon emissions. Other key topics will include place-making for the cultural and creative sector, retaining a skilled workforce in the region and challenges with productivity. It will also provide opportunities for individuals to join collaborative workshops and listen to panel discussions. Further details of the April Summit will be published shortly.
Andrew Griggs, Senior Partner at Kreston Reeves, comments: “We’re delighted to support the Kent and Medway Business Summit for the second year running. This past couple of years has shown that agility, flexibility and resilience are all paramount. It is important that business leaders continue to look ahead to shape the future for their organisation, their communities and to bring sustainability to the top of their priorities”.
“We’re passionate about seeing Kent and Medway grow from strength to strength, leading the way in sustainability and being a hub for growth and opportunities.
“We work alongside many innovative and inspirational businesses in the Kent and Medway community and are looking forward to joining and meeting them at the event – if restrictions allow.”
