An intrepid team of our people completed the gruelling Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge raising over £3,000 for the Kreston Reeves Foundation (registered charity no. 1180402).
The nine-strong team completed the 39km hike in an impressive 11 hours and 23 minutes, scaling a combined 1,900m elevation with each walking more than 65,000 steps.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge is a circular route that takes in three of the county’s highest peaks – Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres).
The money raised for the Kreston Reeves Foundation will be shared amongst our chosen charities – Kent MS Therapy Centre, Air Ambulance Kent, Surrey and Sussex, Carers’ Support East Kent, The Felix Project, Jigsaw South East, Cancerwise and Whoopsadaisy.
Our adventurers – Mike Dyer, Sarah Ediss, Christopher Gregory, Lucy Hammond, Colin Laidlaw, Caitlin Powell, Jeff Rolle, Naomi Varty, Tom Wacher – faced challenging 40mph winds, rain and hail, copious amounts of slippery mud, and on finishing had to call on a local scout group to help push a car out of a waterlogged car park.
Sarah Ediss, Accounts and Audit Partner, said: “Yorkshire, even with the extreme weather, is beautiful and calming. It was a stunning hike and despite sore muscles and aching feet, we are thrilled to have raised so much money for the firm’s chosen charities. We are already planning the next adventure!”
