Shortly before the festive break the Department for Education (DfE) announced that a fully funded course on Integrated Curriculum and Financial Planning (ICFP) is available not only to school business professionals and school leaders but also to governors/trustees.
What is ICFP?
ICFP is a process that helps schools and academy trusts plan the best curriculum for their pupils with the funding they have available. The process helps enable both the educational and finance sides of the business to collaborate together.
There are a variety of courses available depending on your needs. Whether you have a finance background or not, the courses should help you to understand the basics of ICFP. The courses vary between one-hour webinars to half-day workshops around the country.
How can I find out more?
The courses are provided by the Institute of School Business Leadership (ISBL) and are available across a range of times and locations until March 2020.
To see the latest calendar of events visit the ISBL website here or email here.
What other training is available to governors and trustees?
We have delivered a number of training sessions to governors and trustees in the past and continue to do so. We believe that helping governors and trustees in their knowledge of academy finance is an important role to play in the sector and is something we are passionate about. Some of our previous sessions have included how to ask challenging questions (from the financial information presented), how to utilise benchmark data, a walkthrough a set of academy accounts, and refreshing trustee responsibilities.
Feedback on our sessions has been very positive too….”The level was pitched perfectly….those who knew little could access basic level and you included more stretching material for experienced governors too.”
We can also offer bespoke training sessions so if there is something your academy trust and its trustees/governors want then do please let contact us and we can tailor a session to meet your needs. Our sessions normally run for 60-90 minutes, again though, we can be flexible.
If you would like a tailored, high-quality training session for your academy trustees/governors then do please get in touch with our academies team.
