We are delighted to announce that we funded the planting of 15,868 trees in 2024 through our partnership with Ecologi. This brings our grand total to an astonishing 66,597 planted trees – one for every client each year since 2021.

We have been working with Ecologi since 2021, a trusted climate action platform with a mission to inspire and empower businesses to accelerate global climate action. They help businesses fund high-quality climate projects from reforestation, carbon avoidance and removal initiatives, to investing in their latest impact funds.

Alongside planting trees, our contributions to Ecologi have also directly supported 4 climate projects around the world, which amounted to an avoidance of 5,242 tonnes of CO2e altogether – equivalent to 4,022 long haul flights! These are:

Trees provide numerous benefits for the environment and our communities, including their ability to absorb carbon dioxide which, in turn, reduces greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and slows down global warming. Other benefits of trees include improving air quality, regulating the water cycle and providing vital habitats for native species, which ultimately boosts biodiversity. Reforestation projects like those supported by Ecologi allows areas of land to be returned to a forested state, bringing a multitude of benefits to local people as well as wildlife.

James Peach, Audit and Assurance Partner and SDG 13 ‘Climate action’ lead commented: “As a firm, we recognise the part we must play in acting against the climate crisis, which is why our dedication to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal ‘Climate action’ is so important to us. We’re proud to see the positive, tangible impact these projects are having on the planet, and we’re excited to continue working with Ecologi to reach more milestones!”

With the government’s commitment to reducing UK greenhouse gas emissions by 81% by 2035 compared to 1990 levels, and ending the UK’s domestic contribution to man-made climate change by 2050, we recognise that we must play our part in making this a reality. We have been carbon neutral since the end of 2021, but we want to go further in decreasing our carbon footprint, with a goal to develop a plan to work towards achieving net zero status. This initiative is a key part of our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitment, which is central to our purpose as a firm, and aligns with our dedication to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal – ‘Climate Action’.
