A group of Kreston Reeves colleagues celebrated LGBTQ+ identity by joining the parade through Canterbury City Centre on Saturday 10 June and the entertainment for the rest of the weekend.
Pride Canterbury is a spectacular event for the whole family, and this year we had the pleasure of partnering with the organisers to support this important event, coming together to celebrate diversity, equality and progress.
The rainbow-clad supporters continued the celebrations at Dane John Gardens, headlined by drag superstar Baga Chipz accompanied by Tanya Hyde, and enjoyed entertainment from artists such as Liberty X and Caity Baser, as well as appearances from RuPaul’s season 4 Drag Race winner Danny Beard, amongst many other acts and performances.
Kimberley Foulkes, Audit Manager and lead for our focus on reduced inequalities, commented: “We were proud to support the event and join the 35,000 people who came together to celebrate pride. It’s incredibly important to us to celebrate and promote a diverse, fair and inclusive culture – both in and outside of work – for our clients, colleagues and communities. And we wanted to represent the importance of that at this event”. We’re also looking forward to supporting Medway Pride from the 14 to the 19 August. Click here to find out more about Medway Pride.
We, as a firm, hold ourselves accountable against four of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals – ‘Good health and wellbeing’, ‘Quality education’, ‘Climate action’, and ‘Reduced inequalities. Therefore, we are acting to affirm equal opportunities not just at Kreston Reeves, but in our local communities; as well as raise awareness by educating others about the adversity LGBTQ+, BAME, women and neurodiverse people face.
