Our people make our firm. Meet the faces behind Kreston Reeves in our new ‘You in Two’ video series! In just two minutes, you can get to know a bit more about the people delivering the wide range of accounting, business and wealth services we provide.

In our first episode, we interview Audit and Assurance Manager, Kimberley Foulkes who is based in our Canterbury office, and works closely with those in the charities and not for profit sector. Kimberley is also a trustee of local charity Head In The Game that works to overcome the stigma around mental health, as well as for Inspira Academy Trust, after acting as a governor to one of their schools for many years.

You can watch or read Kimberley’s episode below.

Q: Introduce yourself!

A: So I’m Kimberley Foulkes and I’ve been at Kreston Reeves about 15 years. I work in the audit and assurance department, I’m an Audit and Assurance manager. I eventually worked my way up and through to concentrating on charities and not-for-profit, which is my main focus, auditing and providing advice to those sorts of clients.

Q: How would your colleagues best describe you?

A: I think my colleagues would definitely say that I am quite outgoing, probably the word loud has been used!

People would also describe me as caring and helpful. I also head up one of our SDG, our Sustainable Development Goal objectives here in reducing inequalities, and I head that up with Caitlin Powell, who is just great and working together with her in what we can do to push the firm forward.

Q: How do you help your clients reach a brighter future?

A: In terms of just assisting my clients, they’re based mainly in the charity and not-for-profit sector, so they’re really struggling at the moment with funding cuts and post-pandemic impact. So it is just advising them on what they can do with what they’ve got, how we can help them with that, those statutory processes, but also looking at advising them to get the best out of what they’ve got, really.

Q: What advice would you give to someone starting their career in this sector?

If you are coming from school, definitely have a look at the different options that we’ve got on the website for training contracts and apprentices. It’s what I did and I’m so glad that I got to earn and learn.
