The Sussex Heritage Awards were held on Tuesday 2 July at the Amex Stadium in Brighton. We were proud to sponsor the 2025 Eco Awards, alongside Cowan Architects, which was awarded to Ouse & Adur Rivers Trust and their Cockshut restoration project.
This project was delivered by Ouse & Adur, Lewes District Council and partners and restored a neglected rare chalk stream. Six hectares of wetland were restored and is now a system that can support all terrestrial and aquatic life alongside integrating low-carbon practices and conforming to SSSI status. This project was regarded as ‘a collaborative approach, involving community, council and conservation partners… setting a powerful precedent for nature-led design.’
Two additional projects, Field House in Pulborough and Garden for the Future – were highly commended for their contributions to sustainable heritage.
This year’s awards saw over 100 entries, 40 awards and 28 certificates presented.
Daniel Grainge, Partner and Head of Tax, commented: “We were delighted to sponsor the Sussex Heritage Awards for another consecutive year. Our commitment to ESG is a core part of who we are, and supporting the Eco Award allows us to further embed our values. As a B Corp™, we recognise the vital role businesses play in driving change, and celebrating efforts at these awards is something we’re incredibly proud of.”
