We were delighted to take part in West Sussex charity 4Sight Vision Support’s first ever Make a Will Fundraising Scheme, which ran throughout September 2021 and has been hailed as a great success. Using our legal team, people were invited to make or update their Will or Lasting Powers of Attorney for free, in return for a donation to 4Sight Vision Support, which provides support and specialist information to blind and sight impaired residents throughout the county.

Solicitors Philip Lansberry, Catalina Lowe and Sarah Kench were directly involved in the scheme, initially holding two informal Will/Lasting Powers of Attorney free workshops. These workshops were an opportunity for people to ask questions about Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney.

The Scheme has so far raised over £2,000, and Fundraising Manager Julie Branson is delighted with the total achieved. “4Sight Vision Support would like to sincerely thank the staff at Kreston Reeves who donated their time for free. As a result, we have been able to raise a substantial amount to help our work supporting those with sight loss across West Sussex. Due to the success of the scheme, we are very much hoping to run it again later this year.”

Senior solicitor, Catalina Lowe commented: “We were delighted to take part and help to raise much needed funds for 4Sight Vision Support and their important work here in West Sussex. Everyone should decide what their final wishes are and who cares for their children, pets and who inherits their money, and assets after they pass away. Having an up to date Will is important and can avoid difficult situations and an uncertain future for your family if you pass away without one. Making a Will or Lasting Power of Attorney is something many people delay or put off but having that peace of mind that it is drafted according to your wishes means you can get on and focus on life.”
