Today, the MegaGrowth 50 awards unveiled Kent’s 50 fastest-growing businesses at a special event in Maidstone.

MegaGrowth 50 recognises innovative companies driving strong economic growth. The prestigious league table is based on the average turnover growth of privately-owned businesses in Kent with a minimum turnover of £1million, as stipulated in their full accounts registered at Companies House across the last four years. High performing companies that did not file full accounts, but met the criteria, also applied to be considered for inclusion.

Those making it into the top 50 this year were announced at a special presentation breakfast held at the Tudor Park Country Club, near Maidstone.

Top of the table was S.C.A Shipping Consultants Associated who had grown by an impressive 490% over the relevant period. Established in 2000, S.C.A’s core activities include port services, logistic and supplies directed at military and Coastguard vessels.

Michael Harrison, Managing Director of S.C.A said: “We are delighted to be recognised again this year in the Kent MegaGrowth50 awards. Our growth is a testament to our dedicated and motivated team who are consistently aiming for excellence in a highly demanding military environment. We have an uncompromising focus on customer satisfaction, delivering exceptional client care has been a key driver in our growth. We continue to expand our services and global footprint and are excited for the future”.

For the second year in a row, construction and refurbishment business Drakemoor Ltd secured the runner up position, with growth of 483%. Building services company, Lawtech Group Ltd, took third place with 464% growth.

Details of all those appearing in the MegaGrowth 50 can be found here.

MegaGrowth 50 – now in its 21st year – is produced by leading law firm Brachers and accountants and business advisers Kreston Reeves, along with Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce.

Nigel Fright, Managing Partner, said: “Businesses across the UK continue to navigate extraordinary challenges. The lingering effects of Brexit, coupled with inflationary turbulence, have significantly complicated business operations. Additionally, the need to stay abreast of constantly evolving regulations, especially in business tax, presents a formidable task.

“In this challenging environment, it’s truly inspiring to recognise the businesses that have earned a place in the MegaGrowth 50. These companies have not only survived but thrived, contributing to the region’s impressive growth. We see this same determination and resilience in our clients, reflecting the entrepreneurial spirit that defines Kent’s business community.”

James Bullock, Head of Corporate and Commercial at Brachers, added: “Once again, MegaGrowth 50 has offered an incredible platform to celebrate some of the county’s most impressive businesses. Through conversations with the leaders of these companies, it’s evident that success comes from a combination of a robust business model, innovative approaches, strategic vision, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances. Each MegaGrowth 50 firm exemplifies these qualities, and I commend them for their outstanding achievements.”

Tudor Price, Chief Executive, Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, said: This is the second year that the Chamber has supported MegaGrowth 50. It was a delight to meet some of the successful businesses at the awards presentation, which pleasingly included several of our members. The MegaGrowth 50 businesses are a great success story for our county, demonstrating that Kent remains a prime hotspot for doing business in the UK.

“The Chamber is always here to support and advise local businesses through the opportunities and challenges that come with a fast-growth journey. We hope, consequently, that many more of our members will earn a place in this prestigious ranking in the year to come.”
