Rupert joined Kreston Reeves in 2015 and became a partner, leading our VAT and Duty team in June 2017.
He has specialised in VAT for over 25 years. He began his career with HM Revenue & Customs before joining the profession in 1998 with PwC. Before joining us he worked for Baker Tilly (now RSM) in its Southern Region for 8 years. Rupert has a broad range of experience, having advised small to medium owner-managed businesses, entities in the charity, education, museums/galleries and social housing sectors, those involved in international supplies of goods/services and multi-national corporate entities.
Rupert advises on issues such as property transactions, sales/acquisitions of businesses, partial recovery methods, international supplies, and reliefs from VAT. He is also experienced in handling negotiations with HMRC and appeals against decisions. He regularly presents VAT updates for clients and tailored training courses.
Outside work Rupert enjoys gardening, fishing, mountain biking, and watching films and sport - predominantly rugby, football and formula one.
