Our team have tackled the Kreston Reeves Pedometer Challenge, where they collectively walked, ran, and cycled their way through a virtual tour of UNESCO’s sites in England, from Monday 10 June to Friday 19 July, achieving an astounding 77,994,878 steps!
A total of 227 participants across 39 groups went head-to-head over the course of the challenge, with a daily average of 1,948,622 steps! Teams impressively completed the challenge, crossing the finishing line of the virtual English World Heritage Trail, using the Big Team Challenge app.
This challenge is part of our broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) responsibility programme, supporting the Sustainable Development Goal ‘Good health and wellbeing’. Not only has our participation benefitted personal welfare by encouraging healthy habits, but our efforts will also contribute to the planting of 22 trees through Big Team Challenge’s partnership with Ecologi.
Sarah Ediss, Accounts and Audit Partner at Kreston Reeves, and Trustee of the Kreston Reeves Foundation, remarked: “This year’s challenge was the perfect way to inspire everyone to get more active and engage with their colleagues. Our goal was to cover the distance between England’s World Heritage sites, and the results were truly impressive- almost 78 million steps in total!
It was a fantastic opportunity for us to connect through the power of teamwork and channel our competitive spirit. Some participants fully embraced the challenge and worked hard to keep their spot at the top, and we’re thrilled with everyone’s enthusiasm. Plus, it was a great boost for our fitness!”
Our ESG commitment is central to our purpose as a firm. We recognise the important role we have in acting responsibly and hold ourselves accountable for creating long-lasting positive change and using business as a force for good. We also place high value on what our people care about, so having a comprehensive and accountable ESG programme is of paramount importance. We’ve aligned our ESG programme with four of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals – ‘Good health and wellbeing’, ‘Quality education’, ‘Reduced inequalities’, and ‘Climate action’.
