Further information
Ben joined Kreston Reeves in February 2023, bringing with him a strong background in tax and trusts from his previous role at a provincial firm. He has chosen to specialise in this area, offering clients tailored advice on the formation, administration, and strategic use of trusts.
Ben supports clients with inheritance tax planning, intergenerational wealth transfer, and the effective cessation of trusts. He is known for delivering practical, flexible solutions that align with his clients’ long-term goals.
His expertise spans a wide range of trust-related matters, including acting for trustees managing diverse asset portfolios—such as quoted investments, commercial and residential property, land and woodland, partnerships, and private company shares.
Ben is also highly experienced in trust compliance, including:
- Inheritance Tax returns
- 60-day CGT reporting for residential property sales
- Holdover relief claims
- Trust Registration Service (TRS)
- Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI)
- Annual trust accounts and tax returns
He has a particular interest in resolving complex trust issues, especially where lay trustees have struggled with administration. Ben is often called upon to carry out comprehensive administrative reviews and bring trusts back into good order.
Personal interests
Outside of work, Ben is passionate about boxing—both as a participant and a coach. He regularly trains and mentors young boxers, helping them refine their technique. Ben is also a devoted father to a young daughter, who keeps him on his toes.
