Great Brighton Bake Off
To celebrate the return of ‘The Great British Bake Off’ our Brighton office decided to host their own ‘Great Brighton Bake Off’ to raise money for Harvey’s Gang, their chosen charity for the year.
Harvey’s Gang invites youngsters with serious illnesses to become trainee biomedical scientists for the day and tour the pathology laboratories with their families.
There were a total of 11 entrants into our bake off with a wide selection of bakes entered including; lemon drizzle, gingerbread men, red velvet, Biscoff cupcakes and Malteaser Millionaires Shortbread and a show stopper chocolate cake, just to name a few. All were delicious! Judging took place during lunch where everyone was able to taste and rate the cakes. There was a clear winner being David Petitt’s lemon drizzle cake – baked following a family recipe.
Malcolm Robinson, Founder of Harvey’s Gang and Chief Biomedical Scientist, attended our bake off and gave the Brighton office a talk on all the outstanding work Harvey’s Gang do.
The ‘Bake Off’ raised a grand total of £168 to date for Harvey’s Gang.
We will be hosting further fundraising activities in the year to raise more money for Harvey’s Gang and we’re excited to see how we can help the charity!
