Proud to support Medway Pride CIC

A group of Kreston Reeves colleagues celebrated LGBTQ+ identity in the parade through Rochester High Street and throughout the day at Medway Pride on Saturday 19 August.

Medway Pride CIC is a not-for-profit community organisation, aiming to promote equality and diversity, whilst working towards eliminating sexual orientation and gender identity discrimination, across all communities of Medway and the surrounding areas.

The parade goers continued the celebrations to the Rochester Castle stage, which was headlined by X Factor winner Sam Bailey, and other entertainers like singer song-writer Vicky Jackson and drag performer Mary O’Kart, as well as many other acts.

Rachel Emmerson, Partner, commented: “It was a delight to celebrate Medway Pride CIC this year! It’s such an important event for us to support as this community organisation is dedicated to combating discrimination within the local Medway community where a large number of our people live and work. It aims to raise awareness and educate the public about the issues and difficulties affecting the lives of LGBTQI+ individuals. Supporting a diverse, fair and inclusive culture is something of great importance at Kreston Reeves and we look forward to continuing our sponsorship of this event next year.”

We, as a firm, hold ourselves accountable against four of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals – ‘Good health and wellbeing’, ‘Quality education’, ‘Climate action’, and ‘Reduced inequalities. Therefore, we are acting to affirm equal opportunities not just at Kreston Reeves, but in our local communities; as well as raise awareness by educating others about the adversity LGBTQ+, BAME, women and neurodiverse people face.
